born and raised in amsterdam, new york, danny is a graduate of the culinary institute of America and opened his first restaurant, the executive suite, with wife and business partner patti, in the early days of his culinary career in Schenectady. since then, danny and patti created mio posto in saratoga springs, a catering business called culinary fyre in lake placid, red sauce restaurant & italian import store, market, in florida, red sauce is still thriving and continues to display danny’s grandmonther’s recipes on their walls. danny also served as the corporate chef for international paper in connecticut. in august of 2018, danny was the only american chef to be honored by the prestigious university of gastronomic sciences’ academic tables in pollenzo, italy, the home of the slow food movement. danny and patti, together with their daughter jessi and their grandchildren michael and lucia, currently own and operate their pride and joy, osteria danny in saratoga springs.

An exciting culiary collaboration between two innovative local chefs. Danny Petrosino of Osteria Danny in Saratoga Springs, and Armondo Cioccke of Armondo’s Villa Tuscan Grille in Rotterdam, are partnering to create the most exciting and authentic Italian fare this side of the motherland.

Both Danny and Armondo have deep roots in Schenectady’s restaurant scene and come together to launch a new dining destination in the heart of historic Schenectady.

An urban oasis where local, fresh, and simple are the mantra, grano let’s you sip a great glass of wine and enjoy the robust taste of farm-to-table Italian cuisine, including daily fresh made pastas, in a casual, warm atmosphere looking out onto New York’s Electric City.

a schenectady native, armondo started as a young man of 16 working at cornell’s in schenectady as a kitchen helper. over the years of service and dedication to cornell’s, armondo rose from beginner to head chef and manager for the noted italian mainstay in the electric city. after making a name for himself in the culinary community, armondo moved on to establish the successful rotterdam restaurant, armondo’s villa tuscan grille which has a loyal following of dedicated patrons. armondo brings old world flavors and cutting edge creativity to every plate that he serves. having pride and passion for fresh ingredients and unpretentious cooking is armondo’s culinary approach to great food and key to an exceptional and memorable dining experience.
